Classic car comp tickets

Well, I had a phone call last night (from Great competitions website) to tell me that I'd won tickets to a Classic Car event on....... Saturday.
I was asked if I could make it, which I can't. They then said they would offer the tickets to the next person drawn.
What a shame (why do they leave it so late to draw the prizes?)
Have only been entering those ones for 2 months, do people do well from there?
