Hi, my friend has just booked a holiday in Windsor as she wants to go to Legoland, We were just wondering what other places they are near that could be of interest. She has 3 children ranging from 3 to 14. They are ggoing last week Aug so will be there for the Horse Show. Thanks in advance.

Google 'tourist information windsor' and you will probably get loads of information up. I think it's in Berkshire (geography a bit woolly at this time of night) so the Berkshire County Council website will have plenty of ideas.
I thoroughly recommend The Lookout. 20 minute drive from Legoland.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Well, there is the Castle of course:D and if they like walking there is a lovely walk from the castle out towards the Great Park. There are also riverboat rides from just by the bridge in Windsor itself and if you cross the Bridge into Eton then there is always the college there to take a look at.
Am a bit out of touch with the area these days but took my boys to the Castle last year and they loved it.
How far would your friend want to travel from Windsor itself? There is Beaconscot Model Village at Beaconsfield, and Thorpe Park not so very far away if they wanted another theme park type place."there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -
The changing of the guard happens daily.
Check the restaurant deals closer to the time. Windsor has a large quantity of chain restaurants and there are always vouchers for a few of them.
I am going today for the "Most noble order of the Garter" and I am taking Zizzi, La Tasca and Gourmet Burger Kitchen with me. Not sure what I want to eat yet.0 -
When you say 'be there for the Horse Show' - not sure which one you mean - isn't Royal Windsor Horse Show in May?....or maybe you are thinking of another show?
Would really recommend Beckonscot at Beaconsfield - only takes about 30 mins from Windsor max by car.

Legoland is a good day out.
Windsor Castle is definitely worth visiting.
Virginia Water & Saville Gardens are worth a look. The walk around Virginia Water is 1-2 hours.
Bracknell has a dry ski slope, a forest called The Look Out (with a Go Ape), and the Coral Reef (expensive swimming pool with water jets and rapids).
Windsor town centre has some nice places to eat.
The Windsor Great Park is worth a stroll, and there is a village in the middle of it with a cricket field.
Thorpe Park is alright if that's your thing.
There's Cliveden (National Trust) a few miles away and Eton just across the bridge in Windsor.0 -
