jd store card..........

Options
i let myself get talked into taking out a jd store card yesterday when i went to buy son some timberland boots - the guy serving said 'do you want to save 10% off them today only? just for taking out our card - you dont even need to use it again - just pay it off in so many days and pay the interest or anything, as you were going to pay by debit card anyway just save the money till your bill comes and then pay then - saving yourself 10%.........

any thoughts? did i do right taking it?

i note you can use it at other places and i have up to £500 to spend so - would it be wise to use it now and then and just pay the balance before due so as not to get charges or should i just tear it up once i have paid off the boots?

thanks

you only get the 10% off the first purchase no point spenign the rest its all debt.

idealy as you were going to pay by debit card you shoudl have accepted there offer then made full payment on the spot :-) next time you go back get another card or purchase with a freind to make bigger savings on the new offers.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

Pay it off first time, then call them, leave it a month, then ring up to cancel.....

It's a great deal, as long as you can remember to pay it off and cancel it

I done this when I spent a large amount there too, done it in a couple of stores in the past, I tend to ring them up a day or two later pay it off and close it - probably doesn't do my credit rating much good!
2p off is still 2p off!
