i tried to return the cheaper item last year (it was only a £4 summer dress) but i was told i could excange it but i couldn't have a refund as i hadn't paid for it, it was free!

I placed a large order online and needed to send 3 items back so I took them into my local store and they refunded the full amount on all three items even the free one:rotfl:If you return any item on this promotion, I was told by M &S you had to return the whole order.
I exchanged most of the items but they gave me (on the 3 for 2) the remaining £7 on a credit note.!:p0
