Need help and advice re council tax

Cut a long story short we havent paid any this yr i tell a lie we paid the 1st months installment! Anyhow we have recieved a date to go to court 27th June, i have read that they take money from your wages and quite alot until the tax has been paid.

I was thinking of writing them a letter saying that we could afford £100 a month and would this be ok

Does anyone know if this will stop them from taking it from wages iykwim x

I would do more than simply offer a payment of £100, I'd make the first installment in cash at the council tax office ASAP. If you then go to court you can produce evidence of both offering a payment plan and making an attempt to clear the arrears.
