Campaign to get Amazon.co.uk to join Quidco

I'm trying to get Amazon to become a Quidco merchant. For those of you not familiar with Quidco.com they are a membership cashback site that pass on 100% of the commision earned on your purchase directly back to you so you save cash! They only charge a token amount to be a member (£5 a year to cover costs and it's deducted from your 1st payment so you don't actually have to pay it).

Anyway, Amazon are not a merchant which is such a huge shame. So, I'm trying to start a campaign to get Amazon to join quidco.

I've sent Amazon an email via their 'contact us' email form.

Maybe you'd like to do the same - we may be able to encourage them to join ... ?

My email to them was (please don't copy it "as-is" but do your own version):

Hi there,

I, like many of my friends, use QUIDCO.COM to earn cashback from purchases, I direct nearly all my business to quidco partners. However, Amazon is not a quidco partner/affiliate. Your competitors, eg play.com, are quidco partners. You'll see from my order history I used to use amazon a lot but recently have placed very few orders - this is due purely to the lack of quidco membership on your side of things.

Would you please consider becoming a quidco partner? It'd make a huge difference to us, your customers. Please pass this query/request to your business team/affiliates dept.

I would make most of purchases using Amazon if you were quidco partners as would a very many number of my friends.

I look forward to hearing from you :)

Kind regards,

Richard

    Richard,

Its worth a try, but Amazon have a policy that does not allow affiliates to earn on their own purchases.

Amazon is one - if not THE biggest online retailer of its kind - huge year-on-year sales and profit increases over any other.

I very much doubt they need to offer incentives/enticements to customers of a few percent at a time to get them to shop at Amazon rather than Play.com for example. They are doing pretty well as it is - especially now they have reduced the threshold for Free Delivery. The prices are as competitive (if not slightly cheaper) than other online retailers and i'd rather have that all the time than 2% or 3% on a CD/DVD for example.

    ...I wouldn't waste your time...

Rarely on cashback site and often you can get goods cheaper else where, I tend to only use them for low priced goods under £10 as you get free P&P over £5
