I've never seen any really big tubs of dried milk, it would have to be in an airtight tub or re-sealable bag of some kind because if it got damp I should imagine it would spoil. I'd like to get some for my stockpile too but can only ever see marvel or five pints in the shops atm.

strange really cos it's so useful, isn't it. What about stores own brand? I will check out Tesco tomorrow and report back, but it's just a smallish store I'm going to though so they might not have any. I can get marvel in the little village shop, do you have a village type shop near you that might have it?

I buy Aldis powered milk, which works fine in cooking.

I only buy it as I don't really like milk and the other half cannot drink it but is fine with small amounts in food - works out cheaper than buying loads of cartons when we need to use it. Just add some to water and done!

I looked quickly in Tesco today and there was a box 454g and also next to that there was a tub as well it was tall like double the size of a normal marvel tub probably.I didn't buy any today though as my trolley was already overflowing more than I'd planned it to be :o and I've forgotten how much it was. I can tell you that it was round by the long life & uht milks they stock so that's where to look, HTH a bit
  • I've seen it in Tesco before as well but don't remember the price. Sorry. I'll have a look next time I go if you want though. Should be going in the next few days.

I usually get mine in Aldi, but the Asian shop I go to has 5kg packs of dried milk.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
