Default removals

I have a situation with Natwest regarding a default notice on my account.
If you went into default, but had since made up those missed payments and contiyed paying as normal, should the bank still be marking every month in my credit file as default. Which is what they have done over the last 13 months.
I have asked them for a copy of the original default notice which they are unabel to provide (this went to a previous address, despite sending 3 letters to have details changed.)
Natwest seem quite uncoperative in dealing with me, but any advice would be most good.

If you defaulted you have defaulted - end of - the fact that you have since made up the arrears does not change that fact.0

Exactly - your credit record shows your behaviour with credit and how you manage it and it is this that lenders use to determine if they should extend credit to you.
The only thing you can do is ask for a letter of settlement from Natwest and, should you be declined credit in the future, you can show the letter to the new creditor.0 -
Thankyou for your responses, the defaul in question was never actually sent to me and Natwest cant provide a copy either.
My concern is that if someone defaults in may 08 but returns to normal payment and keep upo to date, should june july august and so on be marked as default? As this payment arrangement with Wescot goes thorugh till 2013, this means the default will not leave my credit file until 2019.0
