'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher

Hmmm.
Decrease Government consumption and private consumption in the hope that business investment investment plugs the gap. It needs doing but it won't be pretty. And presumably once again the Tories will carry the can for fixing the Labour Government's mistakes.0 -
Bird house building & exports worldwide?
Moat dredging?

Ummmmmmmm think of all that coal revenue...Not Again0 -
so the conservatives will have three objectives...
1. the short term-
will deal with the budget deficit
i.e. spending cuts and tax rises
2. medium term: shift from debt to savings
presumably this means compulsory savings and/or huge increase in interest rates to discourage debts and/or direct control of bank lending
3. refocus from short term gains to long term gains
presumably this means micro-managing company policies, acquisitions, investment policies and company remuneration policies etc...
well certainly very interesting....back to basics , back to 1970's0 -
The Tories first act of government will be to bend us all over and achieve penetration.0
