Don't know if anyone can help ?

I took a loan out in 2004 with Egg, which i was told at the time ( after they kept phoning me back ) that i could have only with the P.P.I. eventully after all the pressure i took out a loan with P.P.I.
Unfortunately a year or so later i lost my job, we hunted high and low, but were never actually sent the policy documents from Egg for the ppi, although we had proof of having it on the original loan agreement, so i rang egg and asked them to send me a claim form to activate the ppi, nothing, so wrote to egg, nothing, so rang again and wrote again etc etc. eventully i gave up. here we are all these years later and a debt collection company have bought the debt and are threatening me with all the normal stuff and have defaulted me on experian, they say that egg has no record of me ever claiming the ppi. where can i go now ? we have no cash to be able to offer them.
anybody with sound advice, i would be very grateful. many thanks.

Hi there

If you were pressurised into taking the PPI out and could not make a claim because of a fault of their's I would complain and reclaim on this, this is no fault of yours.
If they do not repay you all on your ppi and interest in your favour then move on to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), I'm sure this will go in your favour with them but complain to EGG first as they must have the chance to put this right first, they have 8 weeks in full to respond, and another letter maybe required if they do not resolve this in the first response where they will inform you to send further information for them to consider.
In their final response they should give you details of the FOS.

Meanwhile, if successful although I do not know how Experian work myself but you could contact them and tell them your case has now been resolved and it was not your fault this was defaulted, not sure what they can do about this but it maybe worth your while contacting them, especially when your complaint has been resolved in your favour.
