Council Equal Pay Settlements

Does anyone have any experience in this area?
A family member worked in the local council all her working life. She retired on ill health grounds about 10 years ago and has been very ill since then.
She was a union member all the days she worked but is reluctant to ask for any help or information as it is now so long ago and she is no longer unionised.

Any thoughts or comments please feel free to pm or post. I would love to think that she is due something for all the years that she was paid differently to male counterparts.

Surely no harm in a call to the union helpline for advice.
They are doing mass pay claims so may agree to include her details if she can show she was in the union when working - perhaps?
It seems to be a very slow process though!
