fish is never vegetarian, as vegetarian's don't eat fish. try veggie kebabs, veggie burgers, veggie sausages, and make sure you ask first if he doesn't mind if his veggie food is cooked on the same barbie as the meat and fish. if he does mind get a small disposale barbie to cook the veggie food on. have some nice salads such as coleslaw, potato salad etc too.Vegetarian's Do Not!!!! eat fish

Grilled stuffed peppers - cut the tops off and fill with cheese (mozzarella or goats cheese are good) or couscous and veggies then bbq until the skins start to blacken and the cheese melts. The peppers caremalise and become sweet and it's heaven! Make sure your cheese is veggie though, as not all are.
If you want to make it look like a "normal" BBQ then quorn sausages (don't get the pack labelled "bangers" they're tasteless) are good, qourn pieces on kebab sticks marinaded work well. There are also quorn fillets which are supposed to replace chicken fillets but no meat eater would mistake them for the real thing.
Tofu's a bit of an acquired taste so worth checking your friend likes it before buying a pack. I do, but my equally veggie hubby thinks it's evil!
Desserts - can't beat the old Blue Peter favourite of peeled banana, slit lengthways and wrapped in foil with chocolate buttons pushed into the slit then the whole thing BBQd. Reminds me of guide camps!Slimming World convert, joined 23rd April 2009

i never preboil my corn on the cob and its lovely
halloumi kebabs - quarter some oninons and cut peppers into chunks, fry in a little olive oil (much better to precook then everything will be ready together when bbqd) until softened. let cool. cube halloumi but not too small or it will fall to bits then thread onto skewers with the peppers and onions, another glug of olive oil over them and maybe a sprinkle of dried oregano, leave until ready to bbq. if feeling really flash stick a cherry tomato onto the point of the skewer
these are yum but make lots as the meat eaters love them too'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0 -
:beer:It'snice of you to think of them. You could do what my daughter does, which is cook mine first on the nice clean grill and keep it warm in the oven. Quorn sausages BBQ well as they are firm. Or sometimes I just have the salad and coleslaw and cheese, plus potato salad. Plenty of nice ideas here though, I might pinch some myself.

Large portobello mushrooms are lovely on the barbie... with some brie on the top
Or normal closed cap mushrooms... take out the stalk, and fill with garlic and herb cream cheese, join 2 together in the middle, with a cocktail stick.
I agree that banana is a lovely dessert for the bbq... as is fresh pineapple :drool:0 -

I'm going to make the assumption that he will mind having his vegetarian food cooked on the same BBQ as meat...0 -
I never par-boil corn either, but I do cut it into smaller chunks. Either halves or thirds. Just wrap it in foil with a knob of butter and stick it on the grill once the flames have died down.0
