Use tesco vouchers for boat but really think hard before going to craig tara. As my H puts its, if the children are older than about 3 they will realise how bad it is. Place run down, bad service. We were very lucky and had a fantastic caraven (was only 6 weeks old) but heard so many in cheaper accomadation complaining about their caraven/appartment. Fire damage/mould/damp/things broken etc. Will not be rushing back!0

I have to agree with Freddie I'm afraid - it's a bit of a kip. We have been twice, first time wasn't too bad - we stayed in the top of the range caravans but we returned in August 07 after deciding to head away for the weekend at the last minute. We stayed in their Half Board rooms - well to say they were disgusting is an understatement - they hadnt even been cleaned - there was an ash tray full of fags in the bathroom. The bedlinen was filthy, you could have spit through the walls they were that thin.. etc etc - we complained and complained and finally it was cleaned about 4 hrs after we had arrived. We got an apology and a drinks voucher to the value of a tenner..big whoopee!! The place has got very run down.
I don't know if I'd bother returning, though it is a handy last minute place to go and the kids love the ferry, but my advice would be to stay in the top of the range caravan, if you can afford it .
Anyway, with regards to getting the ferry a bit cheaper, there's a code online somewhere that gives a bit of discount. Search for a Stena discount code and you should get it also try searching for a haven discount code .
Hope this helps;)0 -
Try this, if it works, it gives a 15% discount on Stena

Ryanair now fly from Belfast to Prestwick - see if you can grab one of their bargain flights. Haven't done it myself , but seems a good alternative to the boat especially when you have kids.
According to the Craig Tara website the airport is only 8 miles away (please double check this though, would hate to be wrong lol)
