Legal/financial rights to home after divorce?

Hi-

While my husband was still a student, I bought an apartment in which we both now have lived in for a year. Although he contributes to half of the monthly mortgage payments, I have additionally made several lump sum over-payments (amounting to about £20,000).

The mortgage is in my name alone and I pay for the associated life insurance and mortgage repayment protector costs.

My question is- if we were to divorce (theoretically speaking!), would my husband have any claims on the apartment? Now that he has started working, we both earn about the same amount per year and we don't have children.

Ta for any advice,

Bil2
