Hey
Hoping someone on this forum will be able to help me out, I found a couple of savings books one my own and another which was my mothers who passed away a in 2007
Can anyone help me with exactly who this bank was or is? I thought the TSB had became the First Trust does anyone know if this is correct?
Robert

The TSB is now inded First Trust, I have been with them around 30 years and I remeber it being the TSB.
First Trust is part of the Allied Irish Banks (AIB), which was formed in 1966, and over the decades has become an increasingly international organisation. AIB is headquartered in Buffalo, New York.
In July 1991, the merger of AIB Group's interests in Northern Ireland with those of TSB Northern Ireland created First Trust Bank.0 -
Belfast Savings Bank became Trustee Savings bank which became TSB. The Northern Ireland TSB's then became TSB(NI) and they were bought by AIB to become First Trust Bank.
So if the TSB bank book you have is from TSB - NORTHERN IRELAND - I believe you can take it into any First Trust Branch, fill out some paperwork and they sort it out from there(don't know timescales or proceedure sorry). Because of your circumstances you'll probably also need to provide extra documentation etc, but hopefully this helps point you in the right direction for now.0 -
Thats a real coincidence I have the Domains Trustee Savings Bank.com & .co.uk... they were privatised my Maggie Thatcher and eventually became the TSB and then subsequently Lloyds TSB I think that was around 1995 or so I have an old Nationwide building society account which had about 5 pounds in it 30 yrs ago or so bet it's probably worth less now LOL0
