rpoints and quidco?

Options
Wasn't sure which board to put this on ?

Anyway I'm fairly new here and have a question about rpoints and quidco, is there any general rule to go by when deciding which one to use. I have signed up to both but only used quidco so far.

  • When looking at shops to buy from, go into both RPoints & Quidco to see which gives the most cashback then chose this site.

Quidco always give the more generous cashback than Rpoints but the only way they can pay you is PayPal and you get PP fees knocked off the amount you received. There's also the annual £5 admin fee but there is no minimum payout amount. I joined ebay and got £7 for it so paid the admin fee already and technically now I am getting cashback on all my online shopping.

Rpoints also give you £5 which is redeemable after you've got about £25, they have a lot of little surveys/trials that you can join plus there's a lot more ways of getting paid, eg. BACS, Paypal (no fees taken off), Amazon/CDWOW vouccers, etc. The points statement is also very detailed and nicely laid out. And there's a lovely little forum with most of the bargains you can find on MSE!

You don't need to get paypal fees knocked off what you earn - you just need to open a paypal PERSONAL account and you won't pay any fees on what you receive.

I've used quidco since August last year and earned over £300 and counting....

i assumed it was to do with quidco because when i received payment from rpoints, there were no fees and was surprised to find that with quidco, there was about 8% taken off my payment.
  • I have never had any fees taken from any of my payments - RPoints or Quidco - as I have a personal account just for these transactions.

Just use Rpoints they have a highest cashback guarantee and match Quidco that way all your money can be in one place :)
  • I didn't know they would match Quidco, where does it mention this please?

This is Rpoint's terms for price promise:

    Our promise:

If you find a competitor offering more cashback at one of our Rpoints partner sites, then will we match that offer and credit you with the difference. Just use Rpoints for the transaction and when the cashback appears on your statement, complete our simple Highest Cashback form to claim the difference.

There are lots of sites out there claiming to offer rewards. It's very easy to publish a web page offering cashback but quite another to actually deliver it reliably and efficiently like Rpoints does. So we have to mention a few conditions to ensure we can fulfil this promise for genuine offers:

    - The transaction you are claiming for must appear as "Pending" on your Rpoints statement and you must make your claim within four weeks of the transaction appearing on your statement (it would be very difficult to verify competitor offers going back beyond four weeks http://www.rpoints.com/bb/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif)
    - You must provide a w...eb address from the other site to enable us to verify their cashback offer
    - The offer must be from a genuine and established reward site, which we define as:
    * Has operated its reward scheme for at least six months
    * Is owned by an incorporated company registered within the EU
    - For practical reasons, the Rpoints transaction must have a value of over 20 points
    - We do not match cashback offers for transactions that were not automatically tracked (i.e. required a manual claim).
I hope you agree that these are reasonable conditions to protect this offer from abuse. We reserve the right to refuse to credit points where the competitor offer cannot be verified or is, in our judgement, not a comparable offer.

Perhaps someone can explain whether they do match quidco's cashback.

ps: I was going to say the same as amba. Too much bother to claim everytime.

they'll match it, but you need to claim it?

Why go through all teh bother of doing it through rpoints and claiming the extra, when you can just go thru quidco and claim it first time round?
