That's not very fair - you ask us all for advice and then when it's all sorted you don't let us know how it turned out??

ASK FOR RECEIPTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that she kept on asking for money is horrible. So it is your right to see what all that money was paid for.
Burnt food is outrageous. Definitly do not pay for that, even if you have to calculate the cost.

I am in agreeance with Louise here, you asked our opinions, we took the time to give them and to read the thread when your 'friends/guests' replied and you with hold the outcome, not a very fair thing to do.

If you asked your guests join mse to respond to this thread why ask for our opinions? instead of all that, why would you not just group email your friends and ask their opinions that way ?

Details are withheld because this person is probably a troll..it just seemed fishy that all the OP's guests were coming on giving their opinion, why not do a strall poll of guests and ask them..why come on here wasting our time?

apologies for hurting feelings!
i didnt post details as either me or the caterer has lost out and the end result will probably not be to everyone's liking.
apologies again if i've wasted your time too.

the issue has been resolved, both parties are amicable with it in the end, the discussions in person between us were not "business like" to start with and i think it would be grossly unfair to broadcast the details.

i didnt bulk mail my guests as i dont have all the addresses. mse was passed verbally over the phone.

i am unfamiliar with a "strall poll"? what is one of these?

if anyone is desperate to know the details then ring me if you have my number or pm me.

I meant to say straw poll ( it was a typo on my part) a straw poll is when you ask people for their opinions.

It seemed odd that you came asking for advice and then asked your guests to either register on MSE to respond or email you to post their replies on here. Glad you have sorted out the bill though.

i used this site back end of last year to help with a parking ticket, and found it and the users really helpful. at the time of the catering problem, i posted on here as it was a site i could direct guests to so they could all read the same thing and each others comments. having people respond that were nothing to do with the wedding gave me an indication from a totally independant perspective, of which i am extremely greatful and thank you from the bottom of my heart for talking time to read and the thought for putting opinions in writing.

unfortunately its not my scene to sit in front of a computer reading and replying to forums as my work is manual based, mostly out on site with big dirty machines, however when im paper shuffling and invoicing i do have a browse. i'm registered on quite a few and offer advice assocoated with my profession and ability.
