I never understood the fad for short fixes. It always seemed another endowment scandal in the making. What if you lose your job and are unable to get another fix in the interim? Maybe there are a few wiley types who have been able to fix big savings, but sooner or later you will get caught out. And these short term deals are probably what encouraged so many to borrow a little extra for holidays and cars. A long term mortgage may not sound sexy, but mostly it works.
