Humm I would really like to know as well. Ive not heard of the Sky deal though. I will look into that as I was going to to get Sky Multi Room. I have heard though that the digital box we will require will be over £300 pounds when the HD comes out soon. Prob best to get the TV with HD already on and wait for the prices of the digital box to come down.
I was going to contact Sky for the multi room after I got my new TV but I will give them a call if there is any sniff of a deal going............I would like to know even if I decline.

Cut from the digital spy website:
Pricing of the service comprises a one-off payment of £299 for the new HD set-top box and a Sky HD subscription of £10 month in addition to the main Sky subscription. The HD subscription includes access to Sky One HD, Artsworld HD, National Geographic HD and Discovery HD, as well as the BBC's new free channel.
Sky Sports HD will be available to HD subscribers who also subscribe to Sky Sports 1 and 2 while Sky Movies 9 HD and Sky Movies 10 HD will be available to subscribers of Sky Movies 1 and Sky Movies 2 respectively.
Sky HD comes with Sky+ as standard, meaning that customers will have to pay an additional £10 for a Sky+ subscription unless they take 2 or more of Sky's premium channels.
Free installation is being offered for both new and existing customers until May 31 or initial supplies are exhausted (if earlier).
So £299 to have it installed, and a monthly cost minimum of £ 15(2mixes)+ £10 (HD sub)+ £10 (Sky +) so £35 per month to get a few HD programmes on Sky 1.
Of course movies and sports is extra!
The new series of Stargate is HD if thats an incentive, but Amanda Tapping is getting on a bit so HD won't do her any favours. Mind you Claudia Black is still hot.
Sony late to market and overpriced. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Well that answers that one !! and I bet the Sky multi room will be another £10 per month.
Think Ill get the TV with HD on and just wait for prices to come down on the digital box, thats if I can find a bargin LCD or Plasma TV.
Thanks

Penrhyn - agree Sony late to market, but you get what you pay for and their Bravia models are winning praise (and even some awards, I believe) so definitely worth a look.
Lizzy - depends what size screen you are after.
Anything upto 32", then you should consider LCD
Anything 42" and above and you should be looking at a plasma.
Some 'experts' think plasma is on it's way out and that LCD is the way to go.
However, this is dependent on the cost of larger (42" and above) LCD's coming down in price and picture quality improving and being comparable to 42" plasmas.0
