I have a 10 year old appliance that I need to replace.
I dont have the original manual etc, but I want to find out the fridge and freezer capacity so I can compare. No luck finding it online yet. Any ideas?
Its a hotpoint combination 8562
thanks

The capacity is usually quoted in cubic feet so you can make some measurements and calculate it if you like. You need three measurements, the width, depth and height of the internal compartment, then you multiply them together and that is the cubic capacity. For example:
Internal width of freezer compartment = 17 inches
Internal depth of freezer compartment = 16 inches
Internal height of freezer compartment = 10 inches
so
17 times 16 times 10 = 2720 cubic inches
to convert this into cubic feet it has to be divided by 1728(because that's how many cubic inches there are in a cubic foot)
which is about 1.57 cubic feet
do this for all compartments and then add them together.
Remember that the crisper may be less deep than the rest of the fridge, if it is then treat that as a third compartment.
If you want to know the capacity in litres then multiply the cubic feet by 28.3.0 -
Just in case you wanted it the manual can be downloaded here0
