with respect, surely you should speak directly to your own tax office to sort this out as, if there is a hash(!) in terms of tax and/or NI paid to date, then a new bank account hardly sorts this out, you need to agree with HMRC if you owe back taxes or are due a refund

You need to inform HMRC as soon as possible that you are self employed again. They will arrange for you to pay your class 2 NIC by DD.
Assuming you started after 6 April, your first self assessment will be due by Jan 2011. Im sure you realise that you need to set aside about 20% for tax.
Keep accurate records of your income and expenditure, keep receipts for expenditure.Find out if your tax office does workshops for the newly self employed. Find out if your local Business Link does the same, or can give you any other help with the accounting side.

You can setup a direct debit to pay the NI every so often, there are details on the HMRC website. This could be useful if you don't want to pay it all in one go.

I'm sure HMRC will be happy to accept money in advance for payment of income tax at the end of the year. They'll just deduct your payments from anything you owe at the end of their year.
