How about buying some small cheap photo frames (I *think* you can get four for £1 in Poundland) and then inserting something which you have printed out on your computer ..... "Best Dad In The World" with a picture/clipart of a trophy, or something similar?0

The feedback we've had from our parents is that they prefer something the children have made themselves rather than something the pta have made/bought. Last year for father's day we bought cheap white ikea mugs and got the children to paint on them with ceramic paints (from yellow moon). This year we're doing coasters. For mother's day they did ikea plant pots. However, it does take a lot of organising and help from parent volunteers and teaching assistants and we collected the money a few weeks ago to buy supplies so may be too late for this year. Sorry I've probably been no help, but maybe for next year...0

How about getting the children to design t-shirts, mugs, computer mouse mats, that sort of thing?.Sometimes.I.Wonder.Why.I'm.Still.Here..Sometimes.I.Think.I'm.Going.Crazy.0

You could laminate a picture that the children have drawn and written on for their Dad's - which can be used as a placemat.
Another thing my son made for his Dad was a small cork placemat which he wrote on for Father's Day and which had the date on. The mat is sealed with varnish so the writing doesn't come off. My husband still uses this 15 years on!

How about doing something like the 't-towels' that many schools/nursery's sell.
ie. all the children draw a picture of themselves and write their name underneath. Maybe you could then laminate them and sell them as placemats or wall hangers.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
thanks all ive been so busy i forgot i had wrote on here, lol thanks again0

Will you be able to set up a table where the children can personalise items once bought? Just thought you could buy things like coasters and then let the children sit at a table and colour them?

Crafty crocs has some good ideas that kids can personalise.
(some items on there could easily be personalised at home)
There are often 10% discount codes for that site too.
http://www.craftycrocodiles.co.uk/fabric-fun-c16 here are some fabric gifts that kids can personalise too.
As for gifts you (the pta) can do, how about:
A pint glass with a pair of black socks rolled up inside and topped with a white hanky - to resemble a pint of guiness - wrapped in cello wrap with a best dad sticker on? (you can get 4 packs of pint glasses for about £1 - £2, Socks from Primani etc)
Sweety jars - filled with exactly 365 jelly beans in, and a little message on the tag about a sweet treat for every day of the year from their little sweetie etc
You could jazz up some picture frames
erm... let me have a think and get back to you....Cross Stitch Cafe Member No: 86 :j0 -
