Hamilton Locke - Any experience?

My sister has been in contact with this company https://www.hamiltonlocke.co.uk. Does anyone have any experience of using them. I am trying to check out if they are legitimate and OK for her to proceed with.

Thanks.

Never heard of them, but they are a profit making organisation. She'd be much better off going to one of the non profit making organisations, like Payplan or CCCS.

Im new to this myself but this looks like a company that would charge her for advice. Why doesnt she contact payplan or cccs? They are charities and wont charge her for help

Their contact details are at the top of the board

Thanks for your replies. That was my initial reaction but she said PayPlan wouldn't take her on because she doesn't have much surplus income. Don't think she's tried CCCS yet. Do these places help you (contact creditors on your behalf, etc) if you are on a very low income?

Not sure, have a look at the Payplan website https://www.payplan.com They do say they help anyone.

Scumbags! I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!

Get in contact with The CCCS. They are amazingly well thought of on these boards! :)

In return for administering the Debt Management Programme we will make a handling charge of 17.5% of the amount you pay monthly.

Taken from their website so for every £100 you sister was paying back they would be taking £17.50 tell her to contact cccs.

Thanks everyone. I have emailed her and suggested she call CCCS tomorrow. I guess she was attracted by the fact they would take the problem off her hands and deal with everything. Hopefully CCCS will be able to help.

Thanks again for all your replies.
