Remortgaging and changing jobs

My current mortgage deal comes to an end in a few months time and I plan to try and get on to a good fixed rate for a few years. There is also a possibility that I will be changing jobs in this period.
Will a job move have any impact on being accepted for the better rate mortgage products? If I remember correctly there is always a question in mortgage applications about how long you have been in your current job.
Has anyone got any experience of remortgaging shortly after changing jobs? Should I try to get the mortgage sorted first before the job move?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi there,
I changed jobs almost exactly the same time I applied for a new mortgage with Nationwide. I therefore had no tenure with my current employer or up-to-date payslip. I provided a copy of my new contract of employment, employee number and HR phone number so they could do the necessary verifications.
I think the key is to show that you have been in continuous employment as it had no (apparent) impact on my application.
Hope that helps.0 -
Thanks for the response. Sounds like it won't be a problem if the new job does happen. I think I'll speak ti the bank just to check as the job move won't be worth it if it means I can't remotgage for a while after.0
