Lloyds collection dept/agency

Hi folks

Following the letters that both myself and hubby received from our bank of Lloyds TSB in regards of the 2 loans we have with them, we sent them token payments a few weeks back, (getting prepared to send more), and its only now for June we missed our first full loan repayments and cancelled them by DD.

We received the usual letters a few days back which I am aware are computerised letters that everyone do have if they are unable to collect the loan repayments by normal DD, where if the loan repayments have not been made it could be passed on to their collections agency.

Now I take it this is what we should want to happen, am I correct and what should we expect next - letter wise?, I take it they will come from the collections dept and will try to make further arrangements to collect the loan repayments?

Any advice and info will be very helpful thank you in advance.;)

Also as its been a few weeks since sending the token payments, we have not heard anything on this at all, should we expect letters in regards of the token payments we have made or not?
Cheers again.....:D;)

In my experience Lloyds are a nightmare to deal with, chaotic would be my word to describe them.
Over the past two years they have denied receiving payments from me; denied receiving recorded and special delivery letters they have signed for etc I have been through their complaints procedure twice and taken the matters further to the ombudsman and receved two lots of compensation from Lloyds but nothing has really changed i.e. they still deny receing letters, payments etc, threaten legal action which never materialises.
Apart from that they're fine! Just keep good records of your dealings with them.Good luck.

    Hi Leixlip

    Thanks for this.

I was also told about the ombudsman as well if we have to complain to lloyds and they don't resolve it, so will see what happens.

So I take it yours is now with the collections department?

Sorry to hear what your going through with them and hope it all resolves for you soon, thanks for your kind words.;)

hi there, just looking at your thread, could you tell me when you look your loans out.
i have 2 bank accounts and a credit card accout with Loyds tsb that are in the hands of there debt collection dept MHA and SECHARI. CLARK & MITCHELL, these people are Lloyds tsb's in house debt collectors they will try anything to get more money out of you than what you can afford .
I have just been firm with them on every course of action they have taken ( and thats not been much).
sent a cca and a sar request for the credit card an dthey cant find one so 1-0 to me.
my dealings with Lloyds tsb have been fine they are soft really you just have to stand your ground.
Just remember they cant take your house orsend someone round to collect. my son has more rights than any dca in the land.

    good luck

Tend to agree with you aaxsabian - Lloyds talk tough but never seem to take the ultimate step. I have had no problems with my credit card debt and have an agrrement in place for over 2 years which they renew by return of post.
My loan, taken out 4 years ago, is the problematic thing. I only deal/dealt with them by letter which seems to vex them and they virtually admitted in their response to the Ombudsman that they struggled to keep track of mail received.
We are at an impasse now - I pay what I offered, they sometimes write wanting more, make the odd threat of legal action sometimes via Secharir, Clark & Mitchell (who's name they bought several years ago) - i say go ahead and I hear no more.
After my last complaint they wrote telling me not to contact them anymore so I have obliged !! At first I found them annoying and got very frustrated but no longer.
