Period while on the pill

Hi

i've been on the pill for years now and today i an "accident" worthy of an early period.

I know spotting is meant to be common and you can get a bit of bleeding while just starting but this has never happened to me before.

I have run a few packs on (mainly because if i'm going to forget one it always seems to be the last one!) so i guess this could be the reason but i've never had that either.

I know you can't do medical advice but i was wondering is this common? Has it happened to anyone else?

I do intend to call the NHS thing tommorow to get medical advice

I usually triple pack my pills so i have a withdrawl bleed every 3 packs. I don't get any bleeding mid pack but i know it is fairly common if you have missed pills or put packs together to have a little breakthrough bleeding/spotting here and there.

I'd prob give your gp practice a call and ask to speak to a nurse as they often know lots about such things!!
