plasticine on a wall-How to remove?

My son stuck his poster to the wall with plasticine-thought it was blu tac until today! it has left an orange greasy stain on the white paint at the four corners which seems to widen as you rub it-what can i use to get it off

    Is the paint matt or silk? Have you tried baby wipes they are good for getting biro off or failing that a tiny bit of wd40 sprayed on to a cloth and rubbed in gently should do the trick. HTH
