Would you complain and what would you ask for?

So this is the story...
took my mortgage out through a mortgage adviser in a branch in a bank, everything was fine, needed a 10% deposit which I had, few weeks later I was told the mortgage had been offered and that the only thing that had changed was that I needed a 20% deposit instead of 10% and the way that he said it was very casually!!
To me double the amount is one hell of a lot but I managed to find it! All was ok so I thought, I then found out he had written the street name wrong, which was then changed, to then find he had put in the wrong postcode which messed up the valuation, the mortgage offer and I was charged by my solicitor again,
So I phoned him and explained he told me that he had changed the postcode and it was all ready to go, 2 weeks down the line me thinking it was all ok then had an email from my solicitor to say that it hadn't been changed which he was right to say, the mortgage adviser had done nothing!!
Finally got it sorted... and now I have found out he has set me up with two identical mortgage protection policies, one attached to the mortgage and a stand alone one as well, I am so annoyed with the problems I have had and the time this is taking, it is all ready on the other side just this !!!! up on the mortgage!
Would you complain and would you ask for compensation?

Regarding the protection polices, if they're just duplicate just get one cancelled, no big deal.0

To me this is a LOT of extra stress at a time when you need none!!
Supposing you hadn't check and had just gone ahead? This is too many mistakes. I would contact the bank, ask for someone high up and make your voice heard.
As way of compensating you, I'm not sure. Did you pay a product fee? Perhaps they could refund you on that? Or free valuation?
Let us know how you get on0 -
