We are mean to meet a mortgage broker (whole of the market) at my friends house, in 2 weeks, for studying our situation.
We are 1st time buyer and would like to by together (2 couple), this will help us to see what we can afford and if what we planning to do is possible.
It is my friend who arragged the meeting but I still find it strange that someone will come around the house for free to speak about our project!
Did anyone got some experience or know this kind of brokers?

Lots of brokers will consider doing this - not that strange really.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. It's actually more common for a broker to visit you at home than to expect you to take time off in the day to go to an office.
Besides, at home you have all your information to hand.0 -

This is the way the majority of brokers work- although no better or worse than any other way of meeting face to face- whether they come to your house, you go to their office or you meet at a mutually convenient place is nowhere as important as to how you feel about them and the confidence they inspire in you.
As for free- no, they will be paid a fee ( and may also charge you a fee) from the lender if you do business with them. It's down to them to be as professional as is possible so that you want to do business with them. This will be fully explained in the IDD (Initial disclosure document) they give you.
SSI am a fee charging WoM Mortgage broker.I now no longer give information and opinion within the Mortgage boards, because a number of posters who, having approached me professionally, agreed my fee-which has been been made very clear at the outset, taken my advice (normally cancelling a [home visit] meeting at short notice) have then approached one of the fee-free brokers on here to arrange the very same deal I have advised.Whilst I totally concur with the ethos of "money saving"- abusing the goodwill of a professional who provides a quality service is taking it too far! :mad:0
