    think 05 was too late by some distance tbh and by then was prob 'easier' just to roll it on and hope for the best
    Well I'd seen the signs from further back than that, but 05 was when I really started ranting on about it. :)

    Their remit also includes growth and employment and the fact that it has a lower profile is the fault of Gordon Brown for failing to give them the authority. Blanchflower did at least do his job in warning (correctly) that the economy was tanking last summer. If interest rates has been slashed then, the situation would be better now.
