Mon 8th June's "Manic Monday" Daily Chat thread

Morning!

And believe me, it is manic. I have to get some washing on the line while it's still half-way decent weather, do the weekly shop, get some more washing out when the first lot has dried (as I'm out of clean socks so I've obviously let it build up too much), go to the doctors and sweet-talk him into giving me that mitigating circumstances letter or I fail the year at uni ( ), finish my Employability essay which I told my support worker was finished on Sat and if I've got time and it's not raining, do some more washing.

Again, I seem to be running late for work. I'll have to get petrol tomorrow instead. Talk later.

Thanks for the birthday wishes...I got my Jillian Michael Wii game. Woo Hoo

    Internet Saga....hilarious

All weekend Tiscali (having admitted they had a problem) have been telling me to check my router connections. OH - an IT CONSULTANT - has been telling me they don't need checking - and to be fair he has been consistently right every other time.

This morning I rang Tiscali and blew my stack and said I was switching to sky. Again he told me to check my router settings and I said OH had done that, and that he was a computer techie person - at which point said call centre worker laughed!!!!

I went mental and put the phone down. 10 mins later the phone rang and said call centre worker talked me through the router settings (they aren't supposed to do it cos we don't use their router) and guess what - the router had lost its settings and my internet now works!! He was really apologetic and to be fair he could have just left it...we both ended the phone call laughing.......now just have to break the news to highly intelligent techie person I sometimes live with.....

Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

That is just so brilliant! :rotfl:
(Bookie won't say a word about mentioning the router on Friday!)
My SIL is the IT techie person for Tesco and is about to take on a MD role at Dixons doing the same. Had problems once and he was determined to dismantle my computer. I said 'couldn't we just press that little box there' and ........
Too clever for their own good sometimes.

    Runs off again.
