Don't want to be in Grangemouth itself, but aroundabout.

Any suggestions?

Don't know the area so not sure where to start looking, hence this thread. :)

In the Highlands just now, very small town...MIGHT be moving if OH transfers job. Just a consideration at the moment.

Family of 5, need a 4 bed house in a good quietish area. We both drive so we don't want or need to be in a town centre anywhere.

Ideally a big house in a field would be good but we probably couldn't afford that, lol. (In fact....there's probably no 'probably' about it. :rotfl: )

Any ideas at all would be helpful as a starting point.

    TIA

My dad worked at the Refinery in Grangemouth for 30+ years. You will find a lot of nice villages along the Hillfoots....Muckhart...Dollar...Tillicoultry....Alva...Menstrie.

Or even larger places such as Kincardine, Alloa, Stirling, Falkirk

The property centre http://www.espc.com/ is a good starting place.

I live in one of the hillfoot villages . They are beautiful and a good place to bring up children. There is a primary school in each of the village and a secondary school in Alva. Tillicoultry has a large retail outlet park. Although I would avoid this if you like chocolate -as the Throntons sells it sooo cheap sometimes and I can never resist! There is a swimming pool at nearby Alloa, a dry ski slope in Tillicoultry and all of the villages have libraries. On a Saturday there is a very large car boot sale at Kinross (about 20 mins away) . Tesco Alloa (10 minutes) has self scan so great for the coupons. Pm me if I can help with anything else.
