Electronic Personal Organiser?

Hi guys
My mate is off backing packing round the world for a year or two and has asked for an electonic organiser to take with him as a leaving pressie.
Nothing too complicated, all he's after is something to put names, addresses, emails addresses etc in. Currency converter. Calculator to aid in haggling. That's about it
He needs something fairly bomb proof the last the trip as he's a clumsy oaf.
Any ideas of a suitable item and where to get it for a good price?
