I buy books off Ebay on a regular basis. The majority of the books I've had has been really good, almost new. The thing with booksellers is that normally they are booklovers so take great care in their books. The best ones to buy from on ebay are the ones who sell books on a regular basis. You won't go far wrong with them.
  • hi -

if you're looking to buy more than 1 book at once, you've got to take a look at:

    http://www.scrounge.it/

(aimed at students, hence the name. but is quite clever - it calculates the combination of 10 uk booksellers that will provide your books cheapest, including all the delivery charges. think it's the only one that does this?)

    cheers

  • Another recommendation for https://www.thebookpeople.co.uk

Some great bargains on there although as has been said the choice is limited.

http://www.fetchbook.co.uk/ is great as it compares prices from all over the world to find the cheapest book for you, inc postage. eg if Amazon germany sell an english lang version cheaper than Amazon uk, fetchbook will tell you.

However, as I found recently, it isn't so good if you would like to buy more than 1 book due to postage issues.

Also, if you have time during the day, we have a local oxfam whose bookshelves outnumber the clothes racks. May be worth checking out in your town...
