Going to the market vs going to the supermarket

Our local market strikes me as pricy

same for us, often between asda, lidl and aldi they work our cheaper than going to the market/greengrocers. This week though my greengrocers have cucumbers of offer 3 for £1, thankfully we walk past every day to catch the tram so it's easy to pop and and see their offers. But most of the time the supermarkets win, sadly*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
I've always found markets cheaper and the quality much better than most supermarkets. Prices tend to make more sense too with in season stuff being very cheap, and out of season (if available) being fairly costly. I suspect supermarkets average the costs a bit and add some of the high cost of importing out of season goods to the cheaper ones.
However, it all depends where you're shopping so you'll have to try it and see for yourselves.0
