Suitable party games for 5 year olds and art ideas

A few years ago we set up a Gazebo at a local play park and held my eldest daughters 6th birthday. We had lots of arty things to do under the gazebo and the whole play park for the kids to enjoy.

This year we are doing it for my 5 year old but I am having a mind blank on games and art things to involve girls and boys.

So far I have

Games:
Pass the Parcel
Pin Tail on Donkey
Muscial statues

Art things:
Plain fairy cakes with icing pens for decorating
Paper plates with pens ( to put cakes on afterwards )
Glue with sparkly bits and bobs to stick to little pre made boxes

Any help people?

The party is 2 hours long and while most kids will play in the park the whole time I know that others will want to sit and play.....

A treasure hunt or trail. You could hind either clues or things to collect, little prizes at the end.
Face painting - might want to check with parents if anyone is alergic, and if its sunny kids will need suncream under the facepaint - it can make some kids burn more eaily.

Mad hatters tea party - make party hats then sit round and have juice, served from a t-pot with some snack food.

Using a roll of paper draw round the birthday boy then get all the children to decorate him.

Musical bumps? Musical squares - give each child a piece of paper that has to be folded in quarters - when the music stops they have to unfold it and sit on it.

Hope these ideas are useful :)

I think the treasure hunt idea is a good idea. You could hide little parcels with each child's name on them and they could all have different clues to follow to get to the items. Or they could do it in teams.

I can remember making a fruit salad at one of my friends' parties when I was about 6 or 7. Maybe you could do that, as long as they're supervised. Or maybe smoothies?

How about decorating some cups or t-shirts?

    Mummy wrap game.

Split into teams of 4 or so. Give each team a toilet roll. One person in the team is the mummy. They have 5 minutes (or the duration of a song) to cover the mummy in bandage. At the end of the song, the team with the most coverage wins.

    Hi
I think this is a great idea, i was thinking about doing it myself. How did you find other people that came to the park when you where there, did they just leave you to it or did you end up with loads of uninvited guests.
    Thanks

We found a few people came over for a chat and to say what a money saving idea it was but as a whole we were left alone. My parents came and some parents of the guests stayed and we all had a lovely time, watching the kids and nibbling on food. :-)
