If one goes for an DMP say through Payplan and have a suggested payment amount each month....can one make a one off over payment to them at will if they come into some money or are the payment amounts set in stone over the term of the DMP?
I think the simple answer to this is yes!!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0 -
Argh I wrote a longish reply to some people earlier and went to post it and it didn't work and I lost it!
Oh well I think everyone has been answered by others anyway and I was only really agreeing!
Hersheme, you don't need one really, just makes you feel like part of the group!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0 -
You can make one of payment via payplan eg if you come into some money ect.
As for having children whilst on a dmp...although i havent had a pregnacy whilst on my dmp, but i do have 4 kids that were here before the dmp. Extra living cost would be accounted for via the dmp so you food, haircut, clothing buget would all be increase. As for the larger items that you need to buy for a baby, freecycle is always full of 2nd hand baby items and many of them are excellent quality like new, also friends and family will want to buy you gifts so you could use this to get vouchers or items you need.
Having a child doesnt cost as much as people think..not initially anyway...the main things a newborn needs are shelter, warmth, food and a whole lot of love...the things we all have already.
The whole point of a dmp is to give you your life back whilst slowley getting rid of the debt.
So i wouldnt put of something such as having a child because of it, if a dmp is to work properaly then you should be able to pay all day-to-day bills plus you dmp payment whilst enjoying a life that doesnt involve worrying about where the next penny is coming from...if anyone if still worrying after entering a dmp then its hughly likey your budget has been set to tight and needs reviewings.
I say this after 3.5 yrs on a dmp, and my quality of life has actually improved, i know where every penny is, what every penny is for and can now look forward to xmas, birthdays and hoildays again whilst still keeping the creditors happy.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Hi all
After everything running smoothly for 5 months we have now received a claim via the court from Northern Rock. After speaking to somebody at CCCS I am not particularly worried about these papers but was just wondering if anyone had been in a similar position and what the outcome was.
It is for an unsecured loan we have with them, which was originally part of a Together Mortgage.
I have had to respond with a copy of my budget and expenditure list, so at the end of the day they can see I cannot afford any more than I'm paying.
I have recently upped my payments to CCCS so maybe this will make a difference, but who knows.

Afternoon people
Came home from work today to find Monument have finally sorted OH ppi reclaim out :j A whole £1250 back!:j:beer::j:D
Monument sold it on to Lowell who kept writing to Mum's house duh! Anyway instead of writing 'not known at this address' on the letters as we have done previously whilst waiting for Monument to come back with ppi info, OH opened one of the letters and saw a statement with the new balance on. So now have to contact CCCS and the lovely Mr Lowell and start paying him.
OH also had a letter from Red Debt for the same account, anyone heard of these? Looks like its the same as Lowell's, why do these people keep pretending to be other companies for? It doesn't make people pay any extra does it? duh! Anyway Red Debt can write all they want, we are paying CCCS regardless so they won't be favoured over the other creditors. It was quite a scary looking letter though even suggested a CCJ or even bankruptcy. Back in December that would have scared the !!!! out of us, what would a CCJ really mean? Paying the same as CCCS without the added worry of charges or interest? as for petitioning for bankruptcy?; the debt would be written off soDUH!! Bothered!:rotfl:

:hello::hello::hello::hello: everyone remember me?????????????
Hey Toffee Penny glad to hear you're doing ok and still hanging in there, and of course giving everyone great advice:j:j
Not been around so much lately, life getting in the way I guess, and I got a bit p*****d off with everything especially getting the dreaded CCJ.
I needed to just take a rest from everything really.
I'm now trying to catch up with the thread, perhaps I shouldn't be away so long next time, it moves so fast:rolleyes:
Sorry Kudox just re-read your post and saw you have a CCJ. Can I ask who from, what you had to do? OH has had a letter from Red Debt and it mentions attachment of earnings etc, now I thought creditors could only go for this if you failed to pay CCJ?
Am getting quite worried now reading through it allDMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0
