I wanna skygnome

Options
Well I don't know whether I'm just easily influenced by advertising but I've just seen an advert for the skygnome and I want one!!!

Does anyone know anything about them - are they any good? Can they be bought any cheaper than the £69.99 plus p+p they're being advertised at?

I live in an area with very limited DAB channels and no cable so my only chance of getting any decent radio channels is via sky so this looks like a really good thing for me. Anyone got one????

I've not got one, but I heard there were a few problems with them at the start of the month. This is when Sky changed all their radio channels from 3-digit to 4-digit numbers. Unfortunately, the gnome stores the presets with 3 digits only, so this change ensured that gnome presets simply don't work anymore. Of course you can still re-tune by keying in the full channel number. It was reported that Sky conceded no liability in rectifying this anomaly.

I think the gnome is quite a good idea, but I think Sky's customer service stinks.
Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!

I got mine last week and find it ok.Last year,I got the Sky credit card which gives you 1 point for every £1 spent.500 points can be used to save £5 off your Sky bill, but the gnome was 4950 points (or close to),so I saved my points and got it for nothing.

I agreed with what they said on the gadget show - the speakers are terrible for listening to music (especially if you like it loud).

You should check out EBay, I know for sure that Sky employees got a free Sky Gnome and some are selling them there for around £50. Watch out though, they are pretty heavy so postage could be steep
