Am I the only person who thinks that a great way to get cheap electricity would be for the European union to pay 'Iceland' to install electrical powerstations/generators next to there numerous volcanic areas. Pump sea water onto the areas to create steam and use the steam to run turbines. Run cables from iceland to the uk andmainland europe. You've then got substainable green electricity, non reliance on russia for your energy needs and you get to get Iceland which has been loosing money like crazy since the credit crunch, back on track.

Or the government could just cover Scotland in wind turbines - free electricity for the masses and lots of jobs in the North to boot.

I was in Kent the other day and massed a wind-farm. And not a single one of them was turning. Quality job!

They just couldnt do it the outlay would be to high. or thou i am all for green energy and think its a good idea.
