In the main section of News of the World this Sun 28 June (£1) is a voucher for £5 off Boots in store only. The voucher's valid between Sun 28 June to Sat 4 July but cannot be used on infant milk (up to 6 months), items on prescription, postage stamps, gift cards and mobile phone top ups

I assume this can be used in Tesco's a heads up for people to ring customer service now maybe (I don't use these myself, cos don't spend that much in one go)

I don't think T's will b taking these (might b proven completely wrong, lol!:rotfl:) as Boots r not considered as a competitor; also, generally, the vouchers for Boots r not 99 so, if this is the case, they'd require manual input...:o would have a problem @ my T's as they hate the non scan coupons...:rolleyes:

Been to a mr t's that I only use every couple of months and never used coupons there before. I asked at cs about the morrisons, said yes they take them. I spent £31 gave this in, then £2 off £20 tesco one, also bought the following as I had coupons for them
2 packs huggies (2 x £3 till spits)
warburtons bread (30p coupon)
anchor butter (free coupon)
shredded wheat (50p coupon)
sa said she couldn't take my coupons as they only take 10% and I'd had more than that from the £5 & £2. After arguing for 10 minutes that I had bought the products so I wanted to use the coupons she finally called someone over who said I could use the ones I had bought but it was 10% if not bought

Sorry I've not got a link for this. I printed what I needed so can't help with this sorry. My techy skills are limited and didn't know how to get it into a link so printed a pile. I am improving and will get there.

I'm loving the squabbling in the playground/ merry banter, you really lighten my day. I think the thread was getting overloaded with posts about the problem caused by warbys/ couponet. VC has wonderfully moved those posts away with the new thread and continues to do a wonderful job helping everyone. there was chat before that problem but not as much and I enjoyed it. MM5 are you out there? If anyones heard from mad can you let us know he's ok, I'm missing his posts.

This is a little coupon related as it might be the only solution for those of us that have thrown their PC's through the window or beaten them ( like J.Cleese )with a big stick)
Didn't want to spend a fortune on a laptop...have been watching Wimbledon and researching in between matches and eating strawberries and sitting on my Wimbledon Centenary cushion...not the same as being there but first time watching on 50" plasma with HD is still very good...have been to Wimbledon quite a lot over the years , but it's a very long/tiring day out....have just ordered laptop from Tesco Direct...there is double points offer on at moment ( until end of July) and if you use your Tesco Credit Card ( which i did) you don't have to pay for 6 months( interest free) so not paying a penny until December...the one I chose had £100 off on promotion and if I bought today I got an extra £31 off...had to enter a code at the checkout but it didn't work, so had to order it over the phone and they said the promo finishes today but there is a computer glitch( I'm sick to death of computer glitches...)and it has been removed a day too soon , so thy knocked the extra £31 off for me...got an Acer 5735Z for £348 delivering this Friday( it is on offer at PC world for the same price but not with points or interest free)....it's not the all singing and dancing laptop but it's affordable for me and it does have some nice features...also get almost £30 of deals towards my holiday 'cos of the double points...and boy oh boy after brain hurting and mithering VC and m4rtin for the last few days do I need a holiday....

Well what a day at Mr T's. I did my shop £32.50 worth, picked my SA carefully. Went for one who has been there since 1999 - big mistake I now think!!!

Told her I had some coupons she said that's fine. Took them out and she said "Sorry can only take 50% off". I asked "Since when"
She looked at me like I pooed on her :eek:
"It has always been the policy here" "No it hasn't I said"
Oh dear that nearly started WW3 :eek:
1st coupon was £5.00 Lidl one. "No sorry can't accept that"
2nd coupon £2.50 FF's one "No sorry can't accept that"
Then every coupon after that she chose which one to use. I couldn't believe it. She stopped at £18.00 saying "That's about half so that will do you"

So off I went to Customer Services. "Excuse me please can you please tell me if this store follows the National Coupon Policy?" She looked at me as if I had spoken a secret code :rotfl:
There was a stand off silence that seemed like forever but was really only about 30 seconds so I said "One day a SA will take all my coupons, next time the SA will only take half off them and then a SA will take none and I am getting very embarrassed everytime I come here and do my shopping. I have just been chastised like a child at the checkouts and as your customer I should be made to feel like that"

Well talk about the worm turning. CS lady took my receipt noted down SA number (ID I assume) and said she would be spoken to about it. Then she took my coupons that the SA wouldn't take, scanned them and gave me the cash (including FF and Lidl) :D:D:T:T

She then explained the policy that the store follows, word for word, exactly the same as the one from here.

So that is both my stores now confirmed as following the Policy. I now feel more confident to stand my ground if I get refused or challenged so thanks guys for all the encouragement :T:T:T

I'd agree that it's much more fun, when you can have a bit of banter...good job MM5 is having a sabbatical at the moment..
Lori's post was also spot on, asking us to reign it in a bit.
The forum is for everyone on it, but while Lori is having to troll through everything to kleep the first post updated, I think we should basically, try and abide by what is going to make it easier for her.

This looks to me like a well thought-out post, which probably had several re-drafts to ensure no animosity, or mis-reading of it;) and has also got a huge amount of folk agreeing with it.


It is not asking (IMHO) for people to jump on others for posting a "non-coupon related" post or accusing people of "thinking it doesn't apply to them".
**** It has been suggested that little needs to change, apart from blue-font highlighting of coupons...and Lori suggested that that would make it easier for her.
**** It has been suggested that techy stuff is on the other thread...perhaps if something is posted over there...in detail....wanting help, a single line on here saying "help on tech has been requested, means that the more helpful, will go and try and help
**** Perhaps some-one would like to start a thread similar to the tech one for "not very related coupon bits and bobs "or something, and the friendly folk, could keep that open as an extra browser tab...that way if anyone knows they are going off on a tangent, they could expect replies over there. (I don't know how it could work without some-one asking for a post to be moved, then being accused of being the "thread police" and so on...but if it's going to work as a foum, collectively, the contributors on here, need to decide, how it is going to work, so we don;t get factions starting up and (more;)) back-stabbing.
I must admit to being very capable of non-coupon-posting posts, but with only 45 odd "non-useful" posts out of the amount I've posted...I don't think it's a bad average, but after the polite request, I am trying to curb things a "weeeeee" bit.

So can I now politely request that we all "set our stall out" and say what we would like, and then in a day or two, just do it....but bear in mind that having a swipe at some-one else, for minor transgressions would be better off ALSO done off forum.

It's like a micro-cosm of society, there is NO WAY we are all going to agree with each other....but it doesn't mean having to be rude or uncivil...(unless they start it of course!:rolleyes::rotfl:).

Let's get back to having a nice happy playground, do your fighting behind the bike sheds (or by PM;))

just back from my local where I was shown a memo from head office she had just received stating that the finish mocs and cif are now blocked...as are all other internet printed mocs..not sure if this is nationwide...manager said it was but not sure I believe her....she also refused couponet ones as she said they counted as internet printed...any one else had this problem today
