Internal Complaint Against Manager

Hi Guys,
Just want to know your thoughts on this. It has been quite obvious that my manager has never liked me. Despite being hard working, enthusiastic and keen, she just seems to have sterotyped me and behaved badly towards me for no performance related reason.
Anyway, I cant stand the place so I am leaving in 6 weeks time, very luckily managed to secure a better position elsewhere, however out of courtesy i gave my current employer 8 weeks notice.
Duting this time, the team have an away day booked. Which is where every member of staff (in the whole company) goes away with their team for team building activites and to reflect on the past years performance and develop plans for the future. I had been booked on this.
Then on the day I gave in my notice I was told, by a different manager in my department that I wasnt allowed to go on the away day, as I was leaving. I wasnt to bothered at the time. Then i realised that another member of the team was leaving 4 weeks after me. I checked with her and she is still allowed to go. I have now heard that they are even taking the temp that started three weeks ago!
I want to make a complaint against my manager about this, as I feel its a real good example of the way she has treated me. What do you guys think? The complaint would have to go straight to the MD, becuse thats my managers direct boss, so I would feel happy that some thing like this would be brought to their attention. What do you think?

Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.

I think you are going to have to come up with a better example than that.
Your leaving, you don't need to attend the away day, simple as.
It may seem unfair but you have no automatic right to go on this event.

you sure you want to burn bridges? considering they will be the ones who write references.
just a thought.0 -
I'd be pretty pi55ed off in your situation, but is it really worth the hassle of doing anything about it? I think taking the temp is a no brainer - if they want to taker her on full time and the exercise is to build a team for the future, then it makes sense for her to go. It's strange that the other person who is leaving is still going if you're not, I agree. Surely life is too short for all the stress and bad feeling generated by putting in a complaint against someone though? After all, you're leaving! (and this justifies why!)0

Hi Kitty
The very fact that they've decided to not take you on this trip just re-enforces the very reason why you are leaving. Stick two fingers up, hold your head high and don't give them the satisfaction of knowing this has got to you. Never look back, cos you can't change it, move forward, learn from it and concentrate on what's important to you - your future !!!.
Good luck with your new job

Just decided that I might be sick on these days, I am sure I am going to come down with a dodgy tummy from somthing I ate! I already have my reference, as they sent it last week, I got to see it before it was posted.
I just think that if I can put in a compalint and it gets addressed, then it might make me feel better, rather then feeling like I got walked all over! I am not usually one to let the small stuff bother me, but damn them if they want me to use my holiday for the day off becuase the office is closed!
Its not that I want to go, I just think that is a good example of how I have been treated unfavourably, when others who are leaving are also invited. Its like im being singled out, once again. But hay ho, if you guys thinks its best not to, will go with you. I trust you guys.Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0 -
Kitty - believe you me, at the time you will get some satisfaction about complaining, then more than likely regret it at a later date.
They 'may' just hold an investigation if you shout too loud, this could scupper your new job plans and follow you wherever you go. Honestly, please take everyone's advice, and let it go. Anyway, why would you want to go away for a day with a 'boss' who undermines you and more than likely undervalues you?
Don't think they can make you take a days holiday if the office is shut though ????

Ok, will do, starting to feel better already that I will be more valued in my new job. At least once I have gone I wont have to worry about it anymore! Yay, at least I have a Saturday job that I enjoy! Roll on Saturday.Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0
