Tesco Premier Cru is great value at about £15. It won the non-vintage champagne of the year award a bit ago and was the first supermarket champagne to do so. They also have - I think - Nicholas Feuillante (or somat like that) on offer at about a tenner. This is also good stuff. If you are looking for something really nice and more expensive, let me know.
And if, you know, your history...

In my local Asda today they had Lanson Black Label Champagne at less than half price - just £10 a bottle instead of £21.98. Also, if you buy six you get an additional 5% or 10% off (cant remember exactly!). Good luck!

I second that, it tastes fantastic, my favourite champagne, highly recommended by me and also won lots of tasting tests and awards

Totally recommend the Lanson Black Label (NV) on offer @ £10 a bottle from Asda. Lovely & very, very drinkable ;)

It's 5% off if you buy 6 or more bottles, but you can mix with wine if you dont want 6 of champagne.

I bought my housemate a small bottle of champagne from Marks and Sparks for his birthday. Was about £5 for, I think, 25cl. He was very impressed with it and he is really fussy. His parents used to own a delicatessen so he was brought up with very good food and wine. I'm sure they do full size bottles as well.

I have a bottle of 1990 vintage verve clicquot downstairs. I bought 3 of them off ebay about 2 years ago.

If you could now find them in the shops they are about £200 now.

It depends what you mean by decent champagne, I have to agree that I really like both tesco's and Marks and Spencer's but if you're after something more upmarket such as a Laurent Perrier or Bollinger I would recommend checking out some of the sites mentioned on the thread below.

    http://community.channel4.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/406603872/m/9430010924

This is the channel 4 4money site and they set a challenge everyweek to find the best deal, the finder wins a prize. Last week the challenge was to find the cheapest bottle of Laurent Perrier la Grande Siecle La Cuvee NV Champagne which retails at around £59.95. The winning find was for £42.84 at this site: http://www.wineandco.com/uk/e-vintage/liv-uk/produit-999.html but there are other sites which have good deals on champagne on the first thread.
Most recent wins: IPad, Jamie Magazine yearbook, Links of London friendship bracelet, Baumatic ice cream machine! :j

Lidl's with the cream label is excellent value, can't remember the name. About £14 I think.
Just don't tell people where you bought it !
