Seems like they may have amended the figure which was grossly unfair in the first place. I need to check.

If debt was £24,000

Liable amount is 4,600

Suspendid debt is £19,400

Does this mean I pay £4,600?? and that will be that.. Case is now closed.

Or as I suspect they can come back to at a later date?

It probably means that for the time being, the £19,400 is time barred under the statute of limitations and the rest is recoverable. As there are plans to get rid of the need for Courts to grant LOs, it MAY mean that they could come back for the rest later - unless they convert it of course.

I'd keep going if I were you. If they sent the MEF to the wrong address then you don't have a valid assessment yet.....

Also suspended debt can be recharged if necessary. If you had a job then there is no limit on arrears that can be applied for to be paid by deduction from earnings order.

I will keep going. Don't think the suspendid figure is time barred, about half that figure is before 2000 and the other half after. Internal correspondance from CSA from data protection already states on one form that it was very unlikely I knew anything about it, as not sure MEF was sent to correct address. (surprised that was not blacked out):T

I just want it over with and sorted and hopefully this is the first step. I suspect the suspension is still in place just in case they find out something from their end. That won't happen as I have given them all details requested.

Many thanks for all your advice and words.
