Barclays phoning me at work... please help!

Hi all, I really hope someone can help me!
I recently sent out letters to creditors asking them to accept reduced payments (hubby and I are likely to apply for an IVA shortly) and yesterday and today Barclays have tried to phone me at work. Both times I was unavailable but they told the secretaries they were from Barclays and it was a matter regarding my personal banking. Now they haven't even attempted to contact me at home or on my mobile number, they just went straight to my work. I am really cross about this and quite frankly I feel as though my privacy has been invaded. If this carries on, people at work are going to get suspicious and I obviously don't want them knowing.
Does anyone know how I can get them to stop? I'm sure this is one of their usual tricks but I don't feel they have any right contacting me at work before trying me on my personal numbers and as I'm not very often at my work base, it's likely they will get the secretaries each time!
Any help/advice would be very gratefully received!

Amend & send the following letter
Dear Sirs
Harassment by telephone
Account Number: XXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.
I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)
I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.
I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.
Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)
I request confirmation that my telephone details have beem removed from your databases.

Hi HunnyBee,
Can you go online with Barcleys and change your contact prefrences. When I set up my DMP with CCCS HSBC rang my work and god knows how many times a day on my mobile so I went online and deleted all my contact numbers and never heard from them since. I don't know if they would still hold your contact details or if you can even do this but worked for me hehe...
I will now only deal with HSBC in writing.
SS!:money:I secretly think martin is super sexy!! LOL!!:money:0 -
Thanks for all your great replies! 10past6, I will be sending that letter recorded delivery today! Thanks so much!
Sazzie - Great suggestion! I went in to try to amend my details and I couldn't, I wonder if they've done that deliberately? Probably! I'm waiting on the hounding calls from HSBC, so I will take your advice and remove my numbers from them!
Thanks everyone
