Thanks everyone for your very kind comments and support. I'm starting to get really excited about the wedding, though it's always hard to have to make a deposit payment
Snoozer we are actually taking a perverse pride in not spending the "average" amount, although i feel like i am getting a 10k wedding. We've just trimmed down to the necessary essentials (i.e. no fancy bits on the tables, one attendant, uniforms (yes, for those who have been keeping track OH has backtracked and is getting married in blues!)), though we have got a professional photographer and I am so pleased with her. She emailed today with photos she took from another wedding at our venue last month. She's not the most expensive photographer we were quoted but we're happy that she is the best!
Great to see some familiar names amongst the responses, as well as the new generation of DFWs, bluezone - I hope things are moving more positively for you now. Dinkylou, thanks for looking in - I'll be 30 when our debt clears too - it's a good landmark to work towards. Debt free thirties here i come! Jamiedodger - y'know how much your own efforts have been an inspiration to me! Lynzpower, I'll be keeping my eye on how you're progressing from now on, seeing how we are working towards the same goals.

I hope your OH appreciates you Tondella!!
You're doing a grand job and I'm sure your wedding will be lovely - we spent about £200 on our wedding 10 years ago and I still remember it as the happiest day of my life (apart from when my babies were born)Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
Hello there ruyareece! And thanks for your kind words. Yes OH is pretty chuffed with how things are going, though i really need to shut up about it as i think i bore him to death! He appreciated going down to the bank this weekend and making the overpayment and (I'm almost welling up here) noticed that they had added the early redemption fee and made them recalculate. I was so proud, sniff!!Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94

Tondella, congratulations!
I praised Quidco although I'm sure others have too.I am using them now to try out all the dvd by post stores.I am going to join one eventually but I intend to try them all out for free first and Quidco give cashback on at least 4 of them. With saving up for your wedding you could have some cheap nights in too!
Hope that helps you.0 -
