on the 11/12/05 i bought a shirt from walliswithout trying it on and surprise was too small  ! anyway as there are no wallis near to me i had to wait til next in london and by that time my receipt had vanished. i kept hold of the item as by then it had been sale reduced. now i have had a spring clean and last week found the receipt under the bed
but on the back it says 'bring this receipt to any of our stores with your unworn purchase within 1 month and we will exchange or refund it via the original method of payment...
my question is .. is there any way of getting a refund or even tokens even this late on...? have looked on consumer rights but couldnt find anything
any advise please - other than to lose a dress size!
(please move this post if in the wrong place)
thanks you

Your statutory rights do not cover this situation so, legally, Wallis are not obliged to give you a refund. The reason is that there's "nothing wrong" with the shirt so it was fit for the purpose when you bought it and remains so.
However, I guess that with the receipt they just might allow you to exchange it. You stand a better chance if you're very, very nice - especially as you have no rights, so you're really asking them to do you a favour.
Worth a try?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
If its now selling at a lower price than you purchased it for then its unlikely that they will do anything.
I work in retail and our customers have 28 days to return items. We will only exchange or give goodwill gift vouchers after 28 days if the item is still at the price it was purchased for.
Still, as Debt Free Chick says its worth a try. They might be very nice and exchange it or give you gft vouchers.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
Oh I hate it when this happens. I doubt they will do much as it's out of season now. Perhaps you could give it to someone as a present.

If you don't want it and can't get a refund from Wallis why not donate it to your local charity shop? I know they'll be grateful for it.
