Poundland in Edinburgh?

Is there a branch of Poundland or similiar in Edinburgh? I need quite a few bits and bobs having just moved here and find the cheap shops really useful.
Checked the phone book but no luck.

TIA

  • There is a Poundstretcher on the Bridges and another pound shop in Nicholson Street.

As far as I know, teh company "Poundland" prefer to stay out from the cities but there is one in Glenrothes, Fife, just across the water.

I am in Edinburgh reasonably often visiting kids and grandchildren. If you let me know what you want, I can get it here and bring it through to you. My daughter and grandson live just down behind Holyrood Palace fairly near the new Parliament disaster.

Poundland, in my opinion is considerably better than Poundstretcher or any other similar store. Their 6 rolls in one paper, kitchen towels are strong, absorbant and last yonks. They don't take up loads of cupboard space either.

PM me with your list. I will be in Edinburgh one day early next week but not yet sure which one.
  • The justifiable Queen of the Pound Shops, Poundland, opens its doors on 1st December in Edinburgh within St. James Centre. I wonder if it'll take up that not-too-bad pound shop 'The Price is Right', which closed it doors at the end of last week. I got the heads-up about the opening as there's an ad in the Edinburgh Evening News looking for staff. Now.... all we need is a half-decent sized Primark! :D

Here's the linky of some of the offers for the few folk that haven't set foot into a Poundland - yet.

I think I saw a 'Poundland' shop at Cameron Toll shopping centre. It was where 'Dixons' used to be.

  • Nahhh... That was 'The Price is Right' that's in Cameron Toll. It's okay, but not a patch on Poundland.

The Primark in Dunfermline is very good, been there a couple of times. If you follow the signs for the free park and drive (veer to the right after the viaduct) the bus runs back and forth and the bus stop is just by M&S and Primark is on the other side of the road.

First time we went through was a Sunday and the car park was empty. The bus driver asked how long we would be and was at the bus stop waiting for us at the appointed time :)
