Otherwise, now isnt a bad time to rent either.
Thanks. That's me. I can comfortably afford what I'm buying and it's a bit of a project that could take the rest of my useful lifetime, so I feel OK about buying now. If this hadn't come along, I'd have been prepared for another year's renting, though the idleness that comes with it could have worn a bit thin. Tweaking one's own nest is a compulsive habit, not easily unlearned.
I suspect also that many other STRs felt like I did, as I read of the ways in which we are printing our way out of the current crisis. It's very nice having all that lovely lolly in the bank, but what if...??!! No, of course, Zimbabwe couldn't possibly happen in our fair & pleasant land.....But crazy thoughts at 3am don't always seem so crazy. As someone else said on here a while ago: 'At least a house is always worth a house.'
All this speculation and money stuff is fine, but personally, I'd rather only gamble with things I'm prepared to lose!0
