£2000 loan. Best rates

I am wanting to borrow £2000 to buy a car but when I try to borrow, because the loan is for a 'small' amount, the interest rates are phenomenal. Does anyone know where I can get a decent rate loan? I have been told by friends that buying on my current credit card then transferring this balance to a 0% card is the best way to go, but this seems to go against everything I ve ever been taught! Any body any thoughts?

If you have a CC with 0% BT facility and you can pay it back in full before the promotional rate ends then its likely to be the cheapest option assuming of course thet the car dealer will accept a CC (many don't). Do remember the BT will probably cost you 3% fee and the car dealer may add a few percent on for accpeting a CC.

and by the way what were you taught?

.............or apply for £5000 to get a better rate and pay back immediately the £3k not wanted. The drawback to this option is that your repayments will be higher.

Youd have to check the small print to see if your allowed to pay it back early and if there are any extra charges
