hiya, I'm new hear, hope i'm posting in the right place.
I've been struggling in what feels like quick sand for nearly a year and 6months ago decided I need help getting back ontop of my finances.
I'm 28,live at home, have very little income just my income support and DLA, I'm lucky that my parents don't charge me loads in rent, gas and electric. If i lived on my own i don't know what i would do.
I owe about £16000 (i know alot of money), I started to fall behind with payments because I have bad memory problems and kept writing the checks and puting them in envelopes the forgeting to post them.
So at christmas I went over, my overdraft and that really pushed beyond the point of return on my own. (sorry this is a long thread).
I went to see CAB, i have a nice lady helping me, she thought i could do a debt relife order because at the time it was £14500 (before the charges started), know it looks as though I'll have to do full bankruptcy to start all over again.
So hear's my qustion it's going to take me about 6-12 to save up the money for the bankruptcy
A:is there a cheap way to go bankruptcy
B:is there any free places other then CAB that could help me
thanks for reading my post hope someone can help, as it's now making me ill.
thanks

thanks for the replys, I googled Debt Line, and they seem really helpfull.
I'm going to contact them next week.
I found some information that i'm going to look into about the catalogues before 2007.
Thanks again.0 -
Hi hippy
You might find the bankruptcy board more useful for specific questions about bankruptcy, but I know you get a reduction in the fees if you are on benefits.
In the meantime, contact CAB (again), National Debtline or CCCS to discuss the best option for your circumstances. If you end up arranging reduced payments / DMP it will probably be worth setting up standing orders with the bank to make sure you don't miss any payments.
Good luck!0
